The exercise:

Write two haiku about: fighters.

There's a wildfire to the south of Osoyoos, on both sides of the border, and another to the north of Oliver. I think both started today. We'll see how they play out.

I think when I settle properly it'll be somewhere far enough north that the summers don't get too hot. Although, with global warming I might have trouble with that too. But I wouldn't mind going back to Kiev again, maybe for a couple more years, and Finland looks like somewhere I'd be happy to settle down too. Canada would be a nice option maybe, provided I'm allowed to saddle up a moose and hunt bears ;-)
I hope that your description of the wildfires doesn't mean that you're sandwiched between them....

Fighters
A gladiator
Not fighting for glory but
To live quietly

Makes for a scary
Attacker. He's efficient,
Not showy; he wins.

Greg - I've not been to Finland, but I suspect it might be up your alley. And you would of course be welcome in Canada. Just let me know if I need to arrange your moose riding papers.

And yeah, we're between them. So whether the wind is blowing south or north, we get the smoke.

Ant Man, huh? I suppose he's a fighter as well. And you've managed to fit two rather excellent haiku into this acrostic - a tale of an intriguing and dangerous gladiator!
