Write two haiku about: a split.

Hmm, I feel like there's a theme developing with these prompts. There was an evacuation and now there's a split... so, after being evacuated you've decided to use the relocation as an opportunity to split back to Comox and take another month's 'vacation' while you both inform work that the officials have confused your details with those of llama-ranchers and are trying to force you to 'return' to somewhere in Alberta where the snow falls nine months a year and people talk about the Ilmatu as though they're family?

Split
When his trousers split
The children found it funny
...unlike the police.

-----
Electricity
Brought them together, and now
Pushes them apart

They are splitting up
Like sodium and chlorine
And just as toxic.

[You get three today because I wrote the first and third initially and then realised that the third could be given an explanation if I added one more haiku]

Greg - a quite reasonable guess, but sadly terribly wrong.

(I'd clarify with the actual inspiration for the prompt but I honestly can't remember it in the least)

Nicely done with the bonus haiku. But I definitely like the first most for that final line :)
