Daily writing prompts from June 9th, 2008 to December 31st, 2022

The exercise: Write four lines of prose which take place at: the North Pole. Going to have some Christmas prompts from here through to the 25th. Happy holidays!
I'm slightly disappointed that Valour and Discretion are just a two-day prompt, but it's nice to know that you did have some minor theme in mind for Christmas as usual :) I suspect Mountain Dew Santa will make a reappearance at some point, but like so many of my characters it will probably be fairly random.
The North Pole "I want a job that will take me to the North Pole," said Marie, sitting back at her desk and cupping her mug of hot chocolate in her hands. "Research scientist or Santa's Elf," said Richard promtly. "Those are pretty much the only choices, and without being cruel, you're not really research scientist material. The good news is that Santa will accept you posted to him as there's an Elf shortage at the moment."
Greg - I'm pretty sure I'll be happy to see Mountain Dew Santa every single time he shows up...
I am intrigued by this pair. I am curious as to Marie's reasons for wanting to go to the North Pole. And Richard seems... helpful, not to mention well informed.
I could see you having a lot of fun with these two and this scenario.
