I'm actually quite pleased that I've managed to elicit a little bit of sympathy for Adams in the Inspectral story :) She's not a bad person exactly, but she's a lot more self-centred than any of the other characters (except maybe the Inspectral himself, but he's also a ghost so...). I probably wouldn't rely on her in an emergency, but she's fine for most day-to-day things :)

Begin again
Claire clattered into her seat at the Scrabble board like a kitchen brigade moving crockery in a hurry, bangles bouncing off the table with melodic notes, and dropped her bags on the floor with a thump that better befitted a deadlift-bar. Her partner, a large man in a yellow-and-black check suit, rubbed his grey walrus moustache and set down POSSUM on the board. Theresa eyed her rack, considering her options, and then started, pushing her chair backwards with a ear-splitting scrape, as Claire somehow managed to upend an outsized bottle of nailpolish over the table, the board, and her partner's lap.
"Butterfingers," she said sweetly, sweeping the board aside and onto the floor, "let's begin again shall we?"

Greg - yeah, I think that's about right for Adams.

Hah, that was not the begin again I was expecting. But, I suspect, a rather clever way of letting one's partner know that one does not approve of their opening move...
