Hmm, I was reading through your comments on recent posts and I *think* that the post here has had its first part cut off -- could you check the spam folder and see if the other half has ended up there? Because I'm sure I actually had some comments about your course on that post, not just a random body of text :)

My friend will be leaving today -- he was supposed to leave tomorrow but he's a witness in a court case and they got in touch yesterday (rather short notice, but it is what it is) to ask him to attend court on Monday and he can't get to the court on time if he travels on his original flight. Luckily we'd planned lunch at Hawksmoor but not a lot else, so it doesn't affect our plans much.

A quiz
Quiz, noun, slang(deplorable) A quiz is, of course, a quick zzzz, or a short nap favoured by the parents of young children and often had in the afternoon when the child is sitting quietly in front of a favourite toy or someone else's iPhone while the parent is sitting on something comfortable (though comfortable is relative; a sufficiently exhausted parent will happily sleep on an uncleared banquetting table). It differs from a nap in that waking up from a nap is a pleasant experience of opening your eyes and finding that a few hours have disappeared and that you feel ready to continue with the day, while waking from a quiz is more like opening your eyes and finding yourself in class with everyone -- including the teacher -- staring at you as though you'd given a remarkably inappropriate answer to some question asked while you were sleeping.
While common amongst parents it is also in frequent use amongst students who are regularly to be heard talking about all the quizzes they take in school. Which shows a distinct lack of enthusiasm for learning in the opinion of this dictionary.

Greg - good lord, I just found a lot of your comments in the spam folder (just realized I could separate out the comments that way and didn't just have to scroll through to see what hadn't been published). Some of them went back to last year and I definitely lost track of which posts they belonged to, so if you happen to notice any that duplicated or didn't get proper responses from me please let me know.

No idea what the issue is, but I am very sorry that seems to keep happening to you.

A definition! Impossible to describe how pleased I am to find another entry in your esteemed dictionary :D
