The exercise:

Write about: a trade.

Managed to get in to the office for part of the day today but had to leave early to pick Max up from school, as Kat was stuck at home with Miles.

That won't be a problem tomorrow... seeing as we're pretty sure Max will also be too sick to go to school.

The exercise:

Today we go with: the trade.

We met up with our farmers market friends tonight for drinks and we brought some oregano plants with us since they'd mentioned yesterday they wanted some. My intention was to give them as a trade for a tomato plant they'd given us at the market yesterday, but they were very insistent on paying for them.

Oh well, I'm sure we'll even out over the course of the summer.

It was another enjoyable day off, as other than that we relaxed around the house and had a nice picnic lunch at the beach in the sunshine.

Mine:

"I'll give you five marbles for that blueberry muffin," Alex offered, his eyes locked on the object of his current desire.

"Sure, sounds good to me," Bobby replied.

"And I'll give you these two G.I. Joes for that bag of chips," Alex continued.

"Why not?" Bobby said with a shrug. "I'm not really hungry anyway."

"And how about this picture I drew of my house for your dog?"

That's when Bobby's mother was forced to intervene.

First off, a quick thank you to Beth at The One-Minute Writer for choosing my contribution as her writing of the day on Monday - it's even better the second time around!

I haven't really spoken about it here, but I'm prone to bouts of sport fanaticism every now and again. With the NHL playoffs approaching and the home team actually playing well recently, I can feel it coming on.

Anyway, with today being the trade deadline in the NHL today's starter is: trading places.

Mine:

Won't you stay for a while,
Maybe walk for a mile;
Hear with these tired ears,
Shed some of my tears?

Look around with my eyes,
Taste your easy lies
With this foreign tongue -
Do you still feel young?

The light is fading fast,
Do you think you'll last?
The clock won't stop for you,
So what will you do?
