The exercise:
Write four lines of prose about being: ready for the road.
I think we're basically ready to pack up the SUV in the morning and then hit the road. Pretty productive day, at any rate. One of Kat's cousins is house sitting for us while we're gone, so there was some cleaning up to be done alongside the packing.
Worth it, though, to know that we have someone we trust watching over the place.

I hope you've filled the fridge with all the kinds of food that your house-sitter hates and told all the local food-delivery places not to deliver so that your house-sitter has some challenges ahead of them! After all, you wouldn't want someone house-sitting who wasn't resourceful, right? :)
Ready for the road
"Um, excuse me, please, but you told me that my, uh vehicle, was um, ready for the road?"
"Yes, that's right, she's on the left out front."
"Ah yes, that's the problem you see... that's a boat."
"Yes, she's ready to be rowed... oh, wait, what did you say again, exactly?"
Greg - ah, that is some thoughtfulness that I wish I'd had before leaving the house...
Hah, took me to the end to see what you were doing with the prompt. Nicely done!
