The exercise:
Write four lines of prose about: a nymph.
Visited Nymph Falls with Kat and the boys this afternoon. What a gorgeous spot. Can't remember if I ever went there while I was living in Comox, but if I didn't I was obviously missing out.
It looks like a nice place, though the website is a little scary... located on Forbidden Plateau road and has sirens which, when sounded, require the immediate evacuation of the river and riverside. Not hard to set a horror story here, I think...
A nymph Sitting atop the waterfall, combing her green, weed-like hair on the rocks near the edge, the nymph looks up as the demi-god Havra approaches. She smiles winsomely, wondering what he might want, and so is caught very much by surprised by the back-handed blow he swings at her. She reflexively pushes off from the rocks, flying backwards to avoid, successfully, his anger, but too late realises that she was far too close to the edge of the waterfall.
Greg - very true. Had hoped to get the boys up to Forbidden Plateau for a hike but didn't find the time this visit. It's on the list for next time though.
Hmm, is there a continuation in store for this one? I hope so!

The nymph falls.
