I caught up with one of my best friends on Friday evening, which is always good -- I don't see him often enough so we end up drinking until the pubs throw us out and then hunting for food. This time we found ourselves in Herman ze German (no really) drinking German beer and eating excellent hotdogs, so it was a really good evening. How does this relate to the prompt? I definitely needed water the next morning... :)

Water
"These cave divers," said Emma, watching as the wet-suited men lowered themselves gingerly into the cataract that the gorge outside WrongStart had become, "are we sure we picked the best?"
"We picked the cheapest," said the Headmaster. "Budgets and all that, you know our ongoing problems."
"I... suppose... that explains why they're taking machetes with them rather than food and radios," said Emma thoughtfully.

Prompt: Miles loves water in a way Max never has. He happily dumps water on his face in the bath, enjoys the occasional accidental shower (he'll pull up on the switch when the faucet is running to fill his bath), and loves the splash park. Max still doesn't really like getting his face wet, but that's improved since his last round of swimming lessons, thankfully.

Sounds like a fun night :D

The machetes are for... protection, right? In case there are water monsters down there? Right?

Water monsters? Hmm, we have ice monsters with the Ilmatu, but I guess I could try and invent a water monster. Should it be a monster than lives in water and crawls through the pipes, so when you here knocking you know that the monsters are on the way, or monsters made of water that film across faces, waterboarding their victims?
