Since you're catching up with comments again, let me just note that Aubergine and Adrian's tale is nearly a traditional romance: it's got the boy-meets-girl bit, it's got a little of bit of bad-boy in there, it's even got some modern independent-woman in there (although thinking about it, I might be able to have some fun with the old-fashioned heroine who faints at the sight of work and is so useless she practically needs someone to tell her when to breathe...). In fact, the more I think about it, the more I can't understand what's gone wrong in their tale to make it seem slightly off-beat. Hmmm.
Hmmmm.

I'm trying to decide if the partial acrostic is intentional or not. I think it would make me happier if it wasn't, but it still makes me smile either way.
Also: the actual haiku made me smile as well, just for the record.
