The exercise:

The last day of November already? My goodness.

To celebrate(?), write four lines of prose about: autumn's farewell.

I'm still late, so I'll just get to the writing :)

Autumn's farewell
As the hospital porters rushed Adrian, on a clattering gurney, into the Emergency Room the paramedic caught Aubergine's arm for a moment.
"I'm Autumn," she said, her smile so sincere that Aubergine felt her heart melt a little like butter left on top of the toaster, "and while I'm not normally so forward at times like this, I'd love to see you again." Aubergine's stomach fluttered like it had after the Desert Sushi and before the three days of food poisoning, and she felt the strength of Autumn's grip, the warmth of her iron-like fingers, and the slight dread that if she said no this woman might hunt her down anyway.
"I've written my number on his bandages," said Autumn, leaning in and kissing Aubergine lightly on the lips, "so farewell for now."

Greg - late? What's that like? :P

I'm impressed that you managed to use this prompt to bring us back to Aubergine so smoothly. Though I suppose few things would be too odd to find a way into this romance...
