What is creaking back to life? Your commenting? Miles's bloodwork numbers? The night birds and Mr. Wriggles? Inquiring minds demand to know!

Creaking back to life
Ellen was red-faced, near to tears, and Theresa looked triumphant as she forced the other woman to pick up tiles from the board: Ellen had tried to join RAN and ENS into FRANKENSTEIN which would have brought her miserable score of 80 up significantly and had her creaking back to life in the game.
"It's not in the dictionary," said Theresa, who still sounded just a little bit drugged. "And if I'd edited Mary Shelley she'd have written a nice, summery romance novel instead."
It might only have been coincidence that Maureen laid down MONSTER just at that moment, but Theresa still stared at her as though stabbed in the back.

Greg - my creativity, at the time. May have been a false alarm. Paramedics are currently working on it.

I will never cease to be amazed by how you continue to work these prompts into your Scrabble story. Still loving it.
