The exercise:

Write four lines of prose about: a pittance.

Fun word that just popped into my head a few minutes ago.

That's a word I use often enough to like it, which means I probably use it more than most people :) It's a good word!

Pittance
"This... chocolate? -- bar is a pittance," said Robert, aged 8 and rather more awake than the Tooth Fairy preferred for her visits. She discretely pressed the button on her pager, clipped to her belt, to summon the ERT while Robert expounded on the thinness of the bar, the shortness of the bar, the lack of cocoa content and several other things that, in her opinion, explained why his teeth were falling out. She sighed very faintly as the shadows changed, indicating that Miss Hyde had decided to attend.
"And who are y--?" Robert's voice went from strident to mouse-like as Miss Hyde manifested as Inanna, Queen of Heaven, and wearing a lot less clothing than anyone other than a goddess would consider appropriate.

Greg - hah, I agree.

Also: woo, caught up on comments!

Hah, happy to see another visit from your ERT. I think Robert is about to get what he deserves with that attitude of his. Though Miss Hyde's appearance might be more than he deserves...
