The exercise:

Write four lines of prose about: reindeer and ribbons.

Merry Christmas to those of you reading this in the morning. I'm off work until January 4th and I'm looking forward to the break. Then I'll have maybe a week left of work in Osoyoos (if I end up taking my last three days as vacation) before starting my new job in Penticton.

I hope Santa is as generous to all of you as he's already been to me.

Merry Christmas! I expect you'll enjoy your time off work -- I'm not officially off, as someone needs to be in the office no matter what and my colleague in in Kyiv for New Year and Orthosdox Christmas so I'm in the office for the next two weeks. But it's a quiet time of year and Omicron is worrying people enough to keep them mostly working from home, so it's not arduous :)

I could have sworn you'd threatened to pick your prompt more carefully this Saturday, but it's ideal for continuing... well, it's not an ongoing story but I suppose we might reach resolution of it by the end of the year :)

Reindeer and Ribbons
"This might feel a bit uncomfortable, miss," said the pest control expert. was setting sticks of dynamite tied around with Christmassy ribbons carefully in place and pushing each one until it lodged well inside. "We have to make sure it's all properly tight and contained, but it's right Christmassy though, there's pictures of reindeer stencilled all along the dynamite sticks, see, and ribbons too. You might be a bit looser after the Big Bang though."

Greg - I hope nothing too exciting happens for you workwise over the break!

And I did pick it carefully! It's not my fault that you could literally turn anything I give as a prompt into something you can continue this... whatever this is... with.

I suppose it's too much to hope that this marks the end of it? Yeah, that's what I thought.
