This post and the last have the feel of stories at work behind them... perhaps someone you've encountered while doing your rounds, or... aha! you were asked to close up the gym again, and encountered a seniors pickleball team that's going to have disband if one more member dies of old-age because they're at the legal minimum number to form a team. You've been struck by their dignity in their troubles, and the fact that they're the last of a dying breed :)

Last of a dying breed
You bring bright colours
To dull clothes -- you're the last one
Of a dying breed.

Just switch off, let go,
Be covered by falling snow.
You're a dying breed.

[No acrostic today, but I think I've managed to get the two meanings of dying to sit comfortably alongside each other :)]

Um, no haiku today. I was inspired in a different direction -- go check out Empires.

Greg - the two do go together nicely as a combined prompt, don't they? And I see you're already off to a fine start... :)

Wow, that second one. Powerful imagery there. Very impressed.

Morganna - ah, this is where that came from! Nicely done :D
