I'm guessing this is a reference to all the smoke then -- did a big cloud of it blow it and linger by any chance? I hope you get the rain soon :)
Well, Saturday's (you may post on Friday, but it's Saturday morning here already) for me currently seem to mean the tale of Frodo, so let's head back there.
Lost in the grey "Saruman's skull," said Frodo happily, "which Merry picked up from the foot of Isengaard. He said it was nearly lost in all the grey stuff that was misting around after Leggy-boi shot Saruman. "I've got Sauron's pelvis and a couple of finger bones that should be good for relics in twenty years or so." A bolt of magic arced from from the direction that Gandalf had left in and splashed over Samwise's slightly rotten remains, filling his eye-sockets (the eyes had been eaten by crows months ago when the doctors were still hopeful he'd recover) with a pale green glow.

Greg - oh, how it lingered... so happy to be back to blue skies now.
