The exercise:
Write two haiku about: traffic.
I'm scheduling this post Monday night (okay, technically early Tuesday morning) and I should really be in bed, so I'm just going to get to it.
Hopefully have an update for you guys from the island tomorrow night.
Mine:
Empty roads, just me
and my family - now that's
my kind of traffic
* * *
Start, stop. Start, stop. I
begin to wonder if we're
going anywhere...

I wonder which of your haiku proved prophetic? And I also wonder how many stops you made for Max to get out, look around, and then decide it was too cold outside :-D
Traffic
She blocks aisles for hours,
Holds up supermarket queues...
She's human traffic.
---------
I traffic humans,
worth less to me than gravel,
and I hate you all.
Stop. Go. Stop. Go. Stop
My eyes slowly drooping down.
Am I near home yet?
Sea of metallic,
Thunderstorms of honking horns.
I hate the city.
Driving down the road
What's that? Fire engine? Oh no!
Accident!
Bumper-to-bumper
My eyes drawn to the window
Stationary trees
Greg - I'd say the first was closer to reality, though neither was quite on the button :)
I have met the woman in your first haiku. I wish to strangle her.
Ivybennet - love your second haiku. Love it, love it, love it.
Morganna - well, at least you can see a reason for the traffic. Too many times I've been stuck crawling along... and then suddenly we're back to full speed, without any indication of what slowed us down to begin with!
Nicole - that's very nicely done. I really, really like that final line :)
