During this life anyway it seems like the wicked get plenty of rest, with the rest of us working overtime to deal with the messes they create. So I'm not convinced that this saying is such a good one... :)

No rest for the wicked
Beeswax, string and tallow,
Simple things, but best hand-picked.
The holy light must not go out,
There's just no resting for the wicked.

[I do like how some English words hide because other words spelled the same are more common :)]

And yes, I would agree with your assessment of the saying.
