The exercise:

Write about: time.

Back in Comox after a lengthy return trip up Island. Having to wait almost an hour for lunch did not help matters, but at least the meal was enjoyed by all once it arrived.

Returning to (remote) work tomorrow. Not sure I'm ready for it.

Comox is another of those names that came out of the Scrabble bag, isn't it? In the UK it would be a portmanteau name; the ox would be the animal, naturally (like in Oxford, named for the where the animals crossed the river) and Com would be short for... let's say, composite. So Comox is the place of the composite ox, where animals were sewn together to make new animals, strange and dangerous and capable of facing down a moose without fear.

Right?

Time
Hugging me takes time.
One shouldn't rush something so important
Unless one has no choice.
Raise your arms and hold me.
Squeeze me and adore me.

Greg - huh, I was figuring you'd go with the Comedy Ox. I'd provide details on what that would actually refer to, but I feel like you do not require the encouragement.

At. All.

This would be a sweet poem, if only I could shake the feeling it is written from the perspective of a composite ox...
