The exercise:

Write about something that has been: extended.

Trip to Victoria took about double the time we'd figured, thanks to two lengthy beach breaks and... well, it was mostly the beach breaks. There were also a couple, much briefer, stops for food.

Kat's friend has two boys the same age as Max and Miles, who they have met a couple times before, and they took zero time to pair off and start playing together.

Well, in hot weather, and with young-ish children, beach breaks are a necessity, aren't they? And you are on holiday after all, so it seems like the beach should be preferable to the car :) It sounds like you had a very nice day though, and I hope the food was memorable too!

My flight to the UK was, thankfully, uneventful, and I'm back and now sorting through things to throw out old stuff to make room for stuff I've brought back. Part of me is a little sad; another part of me is acknowledging that it's been five years, nearly six, since I left the UK (except for brief returns) so actually, throwing out old stuff really is getting rid of rubbish!

Extended
Elizabeth settles back on her pillows;
Xylophones ping gently and she allows her eyes to close.
The music is precisely what she chose,
Extending life, rejuvenation, is stressful and complex,
No mistakes can be afforded as all of their effects
Dictate the progress of the life that will come next.
Elizabeth does not believe in any reincarnation
Death is just the end and she has chosen preservation.

Greg - out with the old, in with the new! I do hope the process wasn't too painful for you though.

Why do I have a nagging feeling this is about the Queen... Excellent work regardless though!
