I feel like we're getting a week of metal prompts... will tomorrow be brassy? Or irony? Or (my personal favourite) Technetiumy?
Silvery The mood around the scrabble board had changed a lot now that they had reached the last game. Ellen had started with a rueful PLEASE which Theresa had immediately played ACRIMONY onto and there was a sullenness about the game that was making Maureen uncomfortable. She watched Ellen surreptitiously and noted that she was rearranging the tiles on her rack with just a hint of impatience, and her gaze kept flicking to the N and Y at the end of ACRIMONY whenever she thought no-one was looking. With a slight twinge of regret that she couldn't make good use of the J in her rack yet, Maureen laid down SILVERY and tried not to giggle as Ellen looked like she was going to have a heart-attack.

Greg - hah, irony would have been good. I was just thinking of competitive medals though (gold, silver, bronze).
This is legitimately The Greatest Scrabble Story Ever Told.
